Description
At Sombrerería Mil, we pay exclusive homage to the history of Barcelona with the artisanal recreation of the hat that occasionally accompanied the renowned architect Antoni Gaudí (1852–1926), the greatest exponent of Catalan Modernism and creator of icons such as the Sagrada Familia and Casa Batlló in Barcelona.
Our replica is not a mere visual approximation, but a rigorous exercise in historical reconstruction based on an archived document: the original template of Antoni Gaudí's head shape. This valuable manuscript, dated April 29, 1886, by the celebrated Barcelona hat maker Eduardo Arnau, certifies an exact measurement of 56 centimeters and describes the architect's cranial structure as "perfect in both size and configuration."
Using period molds and original technical notes, we aim to recreate this hat by crafting it from fur felt, featuring a structured crown and a wide grosgrain ribbon with a side bow.
It is much more than a high-end hat accessory; it is a timeless, understated, and sophisticated work of art.

Our hats are shipped in a box with a specially designed protector to store and protect the hat. We recommend storing your hats protected in a box to prevent damage or deformation. We have our own artisan workshop where we can customize, clean, restore, or create your hat.
